by John Weddepohl Could ignoring our true selves be costing us the future? The creation we find ourselves in is always absolutely peaceful. Never in conflict, not a day goes by in the creation that is not absolutely perfect. So why do we human beings still keep struggling, getting conflicted? As our forebears have come … More Self – Man’s Best friend, Creations Best Kept Secret.
The first time I stepped on a yoga mat I had no idea where it would take me. I just thought it’s time to do this. At first, yoga happened in fits and starts. My chiropractor had been urging me to take yoga more seriously, but at that time as a dancer with daily classes, … More My life is Yoga
I’m concerned. Wherever I look yoga is mutating. Just yesterday I received an email inviting me to join a wine and yoga class. The catch phrase? “Let’s stretch and get social.” Because we all know wine helps right? There’s goat yoga, CBD yoga… I could go on…. When I asked one of my friends, a … More Speaking to the Heart
There have been times in my life where I’ve wanted someone to hold my hand. Like the time I was in the midst of 9/11, when I went through my divorce and that moment I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. When John and I first struck up a conversation after hearing about each other for years, we both had our heads down writing books. Not much has changed in the last 5 years. Yesterday my partners daughter and I were discussing the latest trends in website design. She shared that most people don’t want to click a link anymore, they just want to scroll down and get the gist of what you offer. Yesterday one of my students reposted a video from DoYouYoga.com about morning rituals. It depicted a scantily clad yogini littered with tattoos making a simple cup of herbal chai which progressed to a not so simple morning yoga sequence in a dimly lit apartment. The music was engaging and the yogini’s execution flawless. It’s hard not to aspire to that when you start your practice. But I am here to tell you that no matter how beautiful the lens and how dedicated the student the way we look in our everyday practice is far from perfect. … More A Morning Yoga practice
